Vacation is……family, cottage, the north shore, sand, sun, salt, beach swimming, campfires, smores, marshmellows, thunderstorms, fireworks, rainy days, games, cousins, new summer friends, the raft, boogie boarding, clay, seals, hermit crabs, Amet Island, beach glass, shells, kite flying, the windmill, fields, happy hour, smiles, The Pork Shop, sunsets, memories, love, and so much more. To be continued…….
Ahhh camping, the great outdoors, nature at its best. We love to camp, but with four kids it’s been on the back burner for the past three years. This year we were going to camp! A long weekend, 39 degree weather, and a site booked at our local Provincial park. Perfect. I could post these pics and you’d think, “Wow, that looks like so much fun!” But then, you may begin to wonder where the pictures are of the following morning. You know the ones, bacon and eggs sizzling in the pan on the Coleman stove, happy kids sitting around the picnic table. Well, the truth be told I didn’t get those pictures. The truth is, at 10pm we called it a night and and hauled our our four crying overtired kids out of the 100 degree tent, and into the car, and headed back to the city. Camping is fun, but it’s also a lot of work. Maybe we’ll put it on the back burner for another three years until the boys get a little older. All that aside, we did have some fun and make some memories!
As a family, one of our favorite things to do to beat the heat is head to water. The beach, our local lake, the pool. It doesn’t matter! Needless to say, with temperatures reaching 39 degrees this past weekend we spent a good deal of time like this.
